Create my profile now! These Dublin Performance Active Riding Tights were kindly gifted to us by Horsemart when we visited them at Hickstead, because I was totally drawn to their look and colour straight away!
Before reviewing these tights, I spent a week riding in them, as well as working on the yard, mucking out, doing haynets, moving bales, and generally putting them through the ringer!
One of the first things I noticed was that the leggings are so durable, they didn’t get those little torn threads or little holes from being too thin as more delicate riding tights can have.
I usually don’t like sticky points on my riding stuff as I find it encourages you to grip with the wrong part of your body. You should have a loose knee instead of being stuck to the saddle! With these, the sticky spots were just enough to counteract the more slippery material of the leggings, but didn’t hold you in place. The grips also thin out around the knee which is perfect!
I would definitely recommend these to a friend, and have done already, multiple times! I tested them on hot and cold days and found them to be well insulated, I didn’t get too hot but I can see me riding in them in the winter too as they kept me warm when we were getting our standard British summertime weather…
I also liked the way they sat on my hips and that there wasn’t a collection of fabric anywhere, they were just nice and streamlined. I even went for a run in them and they were so comfortable and breathable.
Ease of use:
5/5 – They were easy to get on and didn’t need any adjustment throughout the day.
Comfort:
5/5 – They were so comfortable and light that I didn’t feel restricted in any way.
Quality:
5/5 – Stood up to a battering, the stitching is strong and they are so durable.
Appearance:
5/5 – They are gorgeous, love them! Would wear them for clinics and training! I would really love a plain light grey pair without the contrasting seams so that they look even smarter for competitions!
True to size:
5/5 – I bought a size 8 (26) as that was the smallest size and they fitted perfectly. I’m a 26 but usually a size 4 or 6 at the absolute maximum, so the size 8 threw me but I would still say they are true to size, just go for measurements, rather than sizes.
The Dublin Performance Active Riding Tights get 5 stars from me in every respect, and I'm looking for my next pair as we speak! They come in a huge range of colours, with and without contrasting seams, so there's a pair to suit every taste and occasion.
