Horse Stabbed To Death With Rusty Fence Post
No one can quite understand how a human can be so cruel to these beautiful animals, after a horrific incident took place in Surrey, leaving two horses seriously injured and another dead.
An equestrian center in Crawley was broken into on 14th August. A horse named Sam was left for dead after being stabbed with a fence post during the break-in.
Sam was living in the stables at the Epsom Riding for the Disabled riding school when he was attacked with a metal fence post. Sam’s owner, Wing Bo Chan announced the death on Facebook last week.
Two other ponies named Marigold and Buffy who were also staying in the same stables suffered several injuries during the break-in. The attackers are thought to have entered the stable through a fence panel.
Nothing appeared to be stolen from the barn and the organisation labeled the incident as a ‘mindless act of cruelty.’
A GoFundMe page was set up to help cover the costs of the ventinarty bills that were needed to treat the injured horses. Sam was being treated at an equine hospital in Liphook, he was suffering from a ‘deep-rooted septic infection’ since being stabbed in the shoulder with a rusty, spiked end of an electric fence post.
Sam sadly died on Thursday last week. Ms Chan posted the news on social media, writing: “Had to do the hardest thing ever, that was to say bye to my world, my horse, best friend Sam. We lost our fight yesterday. All a bit lost now! Thank you everyone that has been supporting us and had been rooting for Sam to get better.”
