20 Injured In Germany After Horse Carriages Collide On Christmas Day
On Christmas day in Frankfurt, Germany, police say 20 people who were on board two horse-drawn carriages were injured as they collided during a Christmas Day outing.
Two of the 20 people injured were seriously hurt, with one man being taken to hospital by helicopter.
The dpa news agency quoted the police, saying that the incident took place when two carriages, both holding 10 passengers, were coming towards a railway crossing single file when one carriage halted. The second carriage was unable to stop in time and overturned during the collision.
One of the drivers leading the carriages was also seriously hurt. The incident occurred on Tuesday when people were out for their Christmas day outings.
The remaining 18 people, including young children all suffered with less serious and minor injuries and were attended by 35 medical personnel.
Police in the community of Pfronten were concerned and were investigating on suspicion of negligence causing bodily injury.
