Teenagers ‘Special’ Therapy Horse Has Now Been Found After She Was Stolen From Tipperary Field

A teenage girl was left without her therapy pony after it was stolen over the weekend from a field. Jane Murphy’s daughter is called Erin. She is 13 and is dependant on full-time wheelchair use.

Erin was diagnosed with cerebral palsy after falling seriously ill when she was just a baby.

Erin was lucky enough to have a therapy pony called Cream. She used cream around five times a week and had a strong bond with her therapy pony.

The family were left devastated when they discovered Cream was missing and had been stolen from the field.

Jane made a heartfelt appeal for help to try and find Cream. The police were also involved and they asked that anyone with information came forward.

The police took to social media after no information was received and eventually found Cream.

Sharing an image on Twitter they said: "Update - Good news in the search for this missing pony. Recovered safely by neighbouring Gardai in Cork today. The owners are currently on route to collect their pony from Mayfield Garda Station.

"We would like to thank the everyone for retweeting!”

Police established that the pony was taken at around 6.50pm on Saturday 29th June in the Knocklofty area.

Jane told us yesterday: "This horse is a special one. She's not replaceable. She's so calm and docile. She really can't be replaced.

"I don't get concerned when Erin is around her because I know she'd never kick or buck her off or anything like that.

"This pony is so calm that when we were washing her, one of the days, she actually put her head in Erin's lap so that she could wash her head."
