Horse Trapped In Horse Box After Vehicle Slides Off The Road
Just after 1.15 pm on Sunday afternoon, Firefighters from West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene on Hill Farm Lane in Godmore Hill near Pulborough where a Horsebox had slipped off of the road, into a ditch and a horse was trapped inside.
They had received a number of reports of ‘a large animal’ being trapped prior to arriving at the scene.
When they arrived at the scene they could see that the horsebox had slid into the ditch leaving it tilted and the horse trapped.
To work alongside the firefighters a heavy rescue vehicle and a crew from the service’s technical rescue unit were also called out.
A spokesman said: “On arrival, it was established a horsebox had slid off the road and was tilted. Crews were able to stabilise and secure the vehicle, and the horse was led to safety.”
Luckily the emergency crews worked their hardest and managed to pull the vehicle from the ditch and onto the flat service, the horse was unharmed and no longer trapped.
The emergency crews spent nearly two hours at the scene to get the horse to safety.
Above you can see the crews try to right the vehicle by using pull ropes to remove it from the ditch.
