NEXGEN Sets The Young Horse Standard For 2021
Police are now appealing for information regarding an incident in Draughton where a horse was left seriously injured after it was spooked by a group of 6, all on quad bikes and motorbikes.
The incident took place at around 3.50pm on Sunday 24th March 2019.
The rider was thrown from her horse on Jowetts Lane and evidence from witnesses suggest that the group riding on quads and motorbikes had travelled from the Bradford area, having been sighted in Queensbury at around 1:30 pm.
After being sighted in Queensbury it is believed that the group continued their journey towards Keighley, going through Laycock and Sutton-in-Carven to Crosshills, before heading towards Draughton where the incident happened.
The group fled after the accident and it is thought that they headed straight back to Bradford via Addingham and Ilkley.
Police say “This was a serious incident, which could have resulted in life-changing injury to the rider and horse. Extensive enquiries are ongoing, and any photographs, videos, dashcam, CCTV footage or information that could help identify this group would be gratefully received.”
