NEXGEN Sets The Young Horse Standard For 2021
A horse that was running loose was caught on CCTV trampling a parked car whilst attached to a trailer.
The shocking footage shows the horse running at speed down a pavement in Scunthorpe, before colliding with a parked car and a lamppost.
The footage was caught on CCTV outside Agnieszka and Jarosław Zaniewicz’s home in Scunthorpe.
When leaving the house at around 11am on Tuesday 26th June, Agnieszka discovered that her husband’s car had been damaged by the horse. She said “My children, who are nine and six years old, play on this footpath and ride their bike.”
Her 19 year old son also added: “It is dangerous with a horse running around on its own. The police were called and they said they cannot do anything. If it was after school and there were kids playing it would be dangerous.”
The horse eventually came to a sudden stop after wedging itself between a car and a lamppost.
The family estimates that the car repairs will cost them around £500. Agnieszka uses the car to travel to work every day and only purchased it two months ago.
A spokesperson from Humberside Police told the paper: "We took a call at 12.10pm on Tuesday from a member of the public reporting his vehicle being damaged by a loose horse and trailer in Granville Road, Scunthorpe. We attended and spoke to the owner of the vehicle. We are undertaking enquiries to establish the owner of the horse and are working with the local authority in relation to the resident's concerns about potential safety issues posed.”
