A Horse With A Special Connection To Queen Elizabeth Has Died

A horse named PH Keston, who had a special connection with the Queen has sadly passed away.

The London Metropolitan Police informed the public on Wednesday 2nd January that the horse had passed via a post on Twitter.

“PH Keston regularly escorted HM The Queen on various state events and other high profile occasions,” police wrote to accompany three photos of the animal. “He was a real crowd pleaser with people around London. Thank you for your service Keston. Rip.”

The Queen has always had a love for horses, even from a young age. She had her first horse at the age of just four years old. The horse was given to her and was a beautiful Shetland pony.

She also attends the Windsor Horse Show annually and is known for being rather passionate when attending events such as the horse racing at the Royal Ascot.

Generations down the line and the passion is being continued. The Queen's daughter, Princess Anne, became the first royal to compete in the Olympics. Princess Anne rode in the equestrian three-day event in the 1976 Games in Montreal.  

She was shortly followed by her daughter Zara who won a silver medal at the 2012 Olympics as a member of the Great Britain Eventing Team.
