Description

We have never sold a pony before so here we go. I'll be as transparent as possible and cover all bases.

Reason for sale - mostly our own family health issues and our daughter has moved to high school which limits time further.

Issues with pony - he was diagnosed with arthritis in his front right knee in the summer of 2024. Treated with Alpha2EQ and then steroids. No expense was spared on his treatment. He has responded very well but is still on light duties. He may well need ongoing treatment for this.

Pony behaviour - he rides well and is great in the arena in walk, trot and canter. We lunge him quite a bit and he is good at it and seems to enjoy it. He jumps well and prior to us having him he competed at a good level. I don't think that serious competing would be an option now.

He is easy to catch in the field and there have been no issues with clipping or farrier. My daughter has mostly used him in the arena but he hacks well and we have videos of him around vehicles and farm machinery. He did spook in the arena when we first got him but that seemed to be down to a badly fitting saddle that came with him. Since we changed the saddle we have not had any issues.

We got him as a first pony. I think he would be a good option as a first pony for a family with experience or with a more confident rider. Probably not suited for a novice.

He has been used regularly in a riding school and the kids seem to love him.

We will be sad to say goodbye but time for another family to enjoy him.
