15h (estimated) quality black middleweight AES (Anglo European Stud) gelding, turned 9yrs in June. By Libra K & out of a registered Connemara mare.
We bought him from the breeder as a 5 year old & he has been with us for just over 4 yrs.
He is a super ride on the flat with 3 nice paces, has potential for dressage (we don't compete in this discipline but we do lots of schooling on the flat with all of our horses). Working in a nice outline. Obedient off the leg for transitions and basic lateral work established.
He has competed in Show Jumping up to 95cm, and is capable of progressing further. He has done a small number of BS classes at a variety of venues including Arena UK, Vale View, Keysoe, Stoneleigh and Bury Farm. He has also jumped at Trailblazers Championships (Stoneleigh) and the NSEA County team SJ championships (Bury Farm) with placings. He goes up a gear in the ring and covers the ground well.
He has also competed in Arena eventing classes to 95cm & has been schooled over a variety of BE 90 fences. He can lack confidence over ditches, but this is improving over time.
He is very sensible in open spaces both alone and in the company of other horses. He has however not done much hacking with us due to our location.
He is very sweet, nice to handle, & likes attention. He is good to catch, and loads easily into a 3.5t lorry (we have not tried him in anything else). He is good for the dentist, the farrier and to clip. He has been barefoot during his time with us and he has very good feet.
He is fit and ready to go, l would like him to go to a competition hone. He is a lovely boy with no vices, but he is not suitable for a novice or nervous rider, and Is not a schoolmaster if this is what you are looking for,
We have found that he is best turned out with geldings. He is a very good doer, and requires little hard feed.
He is very sadly for sale through no fault of his own. He would come with bridle and bit, but other items are shared with our other horses so would not be included.
We would like to reduce the number in our yard as rider has recently started 6th form studies. However, finding the right home for this super chap is of utmost importance to us. ...Read full description
