Bob is an absolute delight to have and own. My reason for selling is time and I’ve fallen out of love with riding. I have moved house and the commute is just taking over! Although he is an older horse, he is full of life and I don’t feel I am doing him right by keeping him as a field ornament. He lives at home with me but the rides are not great so he’s just pottering around. He’s stabled at night and out with the hens and sheep through the day.

He is good to clip, he’s had regular dentist visits and great to shoe. He’s barefoot at the moment as there’s no point shoeing him. He’s travelled well in a box and trailer on many occasions.

Riding wise he has led my young horse through spooky situations, likes going through water/streams, nothing phases him. He rides out on very busy roads or country lanes on his own regularly or can go out with others. He can be strong especially if he’s not in front and definitely likes to lead if he’s in a field with others. He’s not a novice ride for that reason. He will jig jog on his way home and doesn’t like standing around much . He will fidget and dance about. He’s never reared or napped when out and really does enjoy a good hack. I have in the past doing xc clinics, dressage, pole and grid work clinics which he enjoys. I wouldn’t say he was schooled but I have had many a lesson on him in arenas where I used to keep him. He gets on well with all horses and ponies and would rather run away than stand up for himself! He’s lives been out in the field and did live out for several years with a shelter but equally likes his stable at night. He is on straw (doesn’t eat it) and hay. He lives on his own now but does have other animals as friends. He wouldn’t like to be left in a field on his own if other horses were taken away (who wouldn’t) but other than that he’s very chilled and likes his mud!

He does have some back teeth missing so he is on Simple Systems soaked hard feeds but managed his hay fine. He keeps his weight in winter and he’s never been sick of sorry.

He will come with a full wardrobe and his tack and will only be sold to the right home. He is an older horse so therefore I want him to go to a home like mine but someone who has time to ride him out and give him that lease of life. I’ve considered loans but too many horror stories so he to sell not loan out.
