sweetest boy ever
I’ve had Ben for almost 3 years now and he truly made my teenage years the most enjoyable possible. He has learnt a lot (as have I) and will do anything to please you, making him the most loveliest horse to work with.
Due to myself growing up and my education moving further in the next year, he just won’t get the attention he deserves and thrives with and is in need of a loving new rider who’s ready to learn.
Ben will take care of anyone on his back and on the ground, but that being said he can be nervous at times and so a confident and competent rider/handler is necessary for him to reach his full potential and for both him and you to have fun!
He has done everything from cross country to dressage, hacking to show jumping (in pairs and alone) and loves doing it all!! He would suit a home that is wanting to do a bit of everything and that is willing to put the time in and learn how he handles situations as well as teaching him how to progress even further.
He hacks alone but is better in company, doesn’t flinch at any kind of traffic, LOVES dogs and moves beautifully in the arena with 3 balanced paces. He is a very sociable horse so needs to be in company the majority of the time, when stabled (he loves to watch what’s going on and talk to his friends) but, specifically in the field and has been in mixed herd turn out but is currently in gelding only, and has been in single turn out, but there must be horses he can see and interact with.
Ben finished his racing career in 2015 (Weatherby passported) and was at one loving home before he was mine. He is not a typical ex racer at all, and is more of a donkey or dog to be honest but as any horse can, he has his moments.
Ben loves to be worked but can easily have weeks off and be golden when you get back on. ✨
Ben has come on leaps and bounds since i’ve had him, despite some set backs on my part and his, occasionally, but he is a quick learner ⚡️ and the more he does improve, the more he is worth, however a forever loving home is the most important to me.
Looking for a loving and knowledgeable home to bring him on and give him the life he deserves, but I was 14 with a non-horsey family and he looked after me and has been a star ever since. Despite novice riders and young children riding him from time to time, he isn’t a novice ride, another thing I love and respect about this horse is he will always let you know when something is wrong (it hardly ever is) but a strong rider is needed to see this and deal with him kindly.
He is good to shoe, catch, for the vet (up to date on vaccinations), dentist and chiropractor. He is fully shod and has been forever as far as i’m aware, but his feet are in much better condition now.
All tack, rugs, saddle pads etc are included - no time wasters please as this boy deserves the entire world
