It is with so much sadness I’m going to have to find Star a new home as I am not in a situation to keep her fulltime myself. She is 13 years old but has only been in proper work for just over 3 years and stands at 15hh. Her sire, Ratisbon, successfully competed novice BE and her grand sire is Raphael.
She is very talented and has taken me hunting, intermediate team chasing, to PC area dressage, show jumping, BE eventing, TREC competitions, including the GB champs and on numerous fun and beach rides. She has also done some working hunter classes. She jumped double clears on her two BE outings and received lots of praise from the commentator. She is still a bit green however, can be stressy when at competitions (nothing nasty) and needs the right person to put some time and effort into bringing her on. I believe she will come and with the right rider will settle and work nicely. She is inconsistent in her contact so needs working long and low. She is coming on with it though and is being lunged to also help her. Star has a bold jump so you would have to be prepared to sit to it.
Star is very brave and will always try hard for you. She is schooled and is very responsive. She prefers a routine and regular work. She is straight and has a lovely action. She hacks out alone or in company and has always been good in traffic. She will stand out hunting, do gates, generally look after you and give you a lovely day out. She never pulls. Star is genuine and is fine out in open spaces. I’m looking for someone who will be willing to put the time and effort into her to enable her to succeed. An experienced, quiet and unflappable rider will get on best with her. She can be a little spooky on hacks-mostly she just stops and looks. If you're a capable rider this won't worry you.
She has the sweetest temperament on the ground and is good to clip, groom, with the dentist and farrier. She has manners and is sensitive! She is very used to travelling. She does need feeding in the winter and she also needs appropriately rugging.
She can be kept totally on her own with no problems but be wary if you’re putting her in with others or if she’s on her own in a field near others. She is fine to go out with other horses but only if she gets on with them. You will have to judge this for yourself. She won't cope being in a stable all day (if she is in she'll need turnout, to go on a walker or to be lead in hand).
Long term loan home preferable. A hunting or all rounder home would suit her best. I would not like her just jumped all of the time so please don't enquire if you're only interested in jumping. Will come with a lovely saddle which has been fitted. DM me with any questions and serious enquiries only please. I would ideally like someone I can keep in touch with as I would love to watch her progress. Please be prepared to give references and send videos of your riding (for both your and her sake!). She is based in Pembrokeshire (South West Wales).
