She is a stunning looking 2012 Iveco 3.0 16v diesel automatic 5.2 Tonne horsebox with an amazing payload. Finished in metallic silver with grey quilted leather interior.
The 5200kg capacity less the unladen weight of 3080kg equals an incredible 2120kg, meaning ample payload for two horses, three humans and all of their luggage!
The horses travel rear facing: - the wide side door and heavy-duty rubber-lined metal ramp make loading and unloading a pleasure. We had a friend’s pony load in this lorry who’d refused to load in every other lorry!
As well three side windows with bars in the horse area (which we tend to slide open just slightly when travelling to aerate horse area), there is a fantastic ceiling mounted electric fan with remote control for those really scorching days in the summer months. The central horse partition is padded both sides and not only is it easily adjustable but it can even be completely removed. We have always travelled the horses with bedding down to absorb any mess so that the one-piece rubber matting fixed to the floor stays in nice condition. There is a wide screen camera in the cabin to offer constant monitoring of the horses which can also be switched to a reversing camera. There is fitted LED lighting in the area.
Very unusual with just 42k miles from new and the size is perfect for those who don’t want an enormous lorry but want the ability to stay away for a weekend, there are two very comfortable beds, one in the Luton accessed by a ladder, which has a fully lined ceiling, providing a cosy feel, and one in the living area (a matching leather insert slots in between the two seats) as well as a gas cooker, sink and even a loo (which has never been used). The rear door has a window which is nice to cool down the living area in the summer.
Mechanically this lorry is a dream to drive and it is very solid, with six wheels (has 6 new Michelin tyres) and an incredible solid metal floor. The last MOT was completely advisory-free. We have travelled to many a show where the lorry has not only felt solid and practical but also an escape from the elements on showery days, with comfortable padded seats and a dining table in the living area, where we have often enjoyed a cup of tea waiting for the rain to stop.
We have received so many compliments at shows and around yards as the lorry is quite unique and the build quality is sensational.
From a practicality point of view, there are three seats up front, finished in quilted leather to match the living area, and the dashboard has also been fitted with Apple Car Play. There is rubber flooring throughout which is easy to maintain. Having an automatic gearbox (albeit you can drive it in manual mode) means that you can really concentrate everything other than having to change gear, which we have found to be ideal when transporting horses.
There are three spacious head-height side lockers including a large tack locker which accommodates two saddles as well as bridles, and there is a hose connected to the water tank for washing horses off.
We also have a hook-up cable ideal for stayaways.
In the living area there is a lockable wardrobe, full length mirror and quilted leather seats for maximum comfort. There is a conveniently located fridge so that drinks can stay chilled in the summer. Every area of the lorry has individual internal lighting.
We have covered about 6k miles over the last year and have really appreciated what this lorry has to offer, but our brand-new lorry has now arrived so she has to go!
The lorry has two sets of keys, clear HPi certificate, Weigh Bridge certificate, current V5, MOT until 31st October 2025 and an MOT history confirming the low mileage dating back since she was a year old. She is ready to serve her new owners whom we hope will have as much enjoyment as we did.
Priced at £34950, this substantial lorry, with very low milage and such a high specification, would be very difficult to repeat and we hope it finds the loveliest of homes.
