***Annandale Lady Grey*** 8yr old, 12.2hh Strawberry roan Mare
Gracie is great to handle on the ground, she has been handled by my 4 and 6 year old and they can groom her and pick out all four feet alone. I am advertising Gracie as a second pony for a confident rider, she is not a novice ride as she has a couple of little quirks. I am happy to discuss these with anyone who is interested in her, She may also be suitable as a lead rein pony but I would prefer to discuss this with you (this would need to be a knowledgeable home).
Gracie is well bread for the show ring however she has had a quiet two years since coming to live with us and has recently been brought back into work by my niece and is going very well, she is a much more competent rider and has had some lovely work from her (i have recent videos of this) she could also make a great brood mare.
We initially used her as a lead rein pony for my daughter who was age 4, my daughter was then ready to come off the lead rein and start some independent riding, Gracie is a little cleaver and soon learnt how to get away without working and would occasionally put in a cow kick, This never unseated my daughter but she wasn't strong enough to ride her forward through it.
Gracie has been ridden in the school and over some poles and very small cross poles and was steady and never silly over them. She has also been hacked out along our local cycle path and has been fine with bikes and dogs, she is also used to farm vehicles (tractors, quads, diggers 4x4's etc). She can be a bit 'looky' when hacking if she hasn't been out for a while but again with a confident rider she is alot more positive.
She has a green passport, is barefoot and up to date with trimming and also teeth and worming, Gracie is in a mixed herd and lives out year round as long as she's snug and warm in her rug. We do keep her in off the long lush grass for short lengths of time over the summer just to keep her weight under control but she has never suffered with laminitis.
My daughter will be very sad to see her go but she just isnt the right pony to bring her on. Gracie is priced to sell, I have got plenty of videos and photos of her so if you would like to see more than the ones on the advert then please get in touch.
