I have had Bob since a 3 year old. He was lightly backed before I got him so I have pretty much done everything with him. Very easy to do!
Bob is the definition of an all-rounder. He has done dressage, show jumping, cross country, eventing, hunting, hacking!
Dressage - he has a beautiful movement and floats across the ground. Always in the ribbons and always receives comments on his beauty and behaviour! Has done Intro and Prelim but at home been starting on leg yield and shoulder in and finding it easy so should easily be able to move up a few levels. He is registered with BD.
Cross country - he loves it! Bold and brave and jumps everything! He has a big jump on him too. Does need a bit of persuading to go in the water but never refuses.
Show jumping - still needs work! I don't think he finds it as fun as xc so doesn't put as much effort into it. Again, can jump big and actually jumps better the bigger it in. Small cross poles he will demolish as it's boring.
Hacking - again bold and confidence. Will babysit anything out again, I am yet to find something he is bothered by.
Hunting - Bob has been hunting twice and loved it. Was brilliantly behaved at all times. He put some of the old pros to shame really. Kept going all day. Does get a little strong, but nothing a gag can't deal with.
He is easy to handle on the ground and absolutely loves a cuddle! I do lead him to and from the field in a little bridle as he thinks with his belly and pulls down to eat the grass along the way. Good for farrier, teeth and vet. Good to clip, not keen on his belly at first but once the clippers are on he is fine. Low maintenance cob, only gets a small handful of chaff after hunting or eventing otherwise nothing.
Bob absolutely must go to a competitive, active home. He will get very very bored and probably naughty if only being hacked, or only doing flat work. He is an all rounder!
This is not a decision I have made lightly but a change in circumstances have meant that he is now turned out at my house. I am struggling to keep him going with the lack of facilities and like I said he is not one to just be hacked. But he will not go to just anyone.
Tack and rugs etc available to buy for agreed price.
