After a long, hard and difficult decision I have decided to put my 2 horses up for SALE ONLY. (no loans)

Thomas – Thomas is a 12 year old, 15.2hh Gelding Welsh Sec D X New Forest. He was sold to me in September 2018 as a perfect 2nd horse, which is exactly what he’s proved to be. Thomas absolutely adores hacking out in the countryside, and will happily hack for absolute miles. He will happily calmly walk through open fields, or pick the pace up and have a nice comfy canter. He is good as gold on busy main roads, I have had him trotting down a country lane with a humongous tractor directly behind us following us and he didn’t hot up/act up at all. I’d of never known it was a tractor if I wasn’t aware of it. Thomas loves jumping, and in my opinion would excel at XC or hunting. He enjoys an easier life now, however is still full of beans and with the right rider will pick the paces up and do his job well. He doesn’t enjoy schooling at all, and for this reason I would not sell him to a beginner/complete novice rider. I am a confident novice and I have absolutely no issues handling/riding him at all, but I do believe with a “weaker” rider he may take the mickey. Having said that, my mum rode him recently and she hasn’t ridden a horse for approx. 6 years and he was an absolute diamond with her. He is definitely a weight/leg carrier too as he’s a big chunky substantial sort. I am 5ft 10 and fit him with ease. Thomas would definitely benefit from a “one owner” home, however could also be enjoyed by the whole family. He is a very loveable, affectionate horse who enjoys peoples company and is always waiting at the gate to greet you with a nice whinny. He passed a 5 stage vetting in September with flying colours, and I have a copy of this is required/wanted. Also have his passport and he is fully up to date with all vaccinations/worming etc. He is good as gold for the farrier and is happily barefoot. He’s as good as gold to load, often pretty much doing it for you. Very very easy to catch, often puts his head into his head collar for you. He currently happily lives out 24/7 with me, however has been previously stabled overnight during winter in his old home. I have so many pictures/videos of him and am more than happy for viewings etc. He is fed on hard feed and hay during the winter, and just grass during the summer months.

Bella – Bella is a 11 year old, 14.3-15hh Mare Irish Sports Horse. FIELD ORNAMENT/COMPANION HORSE ONLY. Bella has a sad story. Bella was sold to me in August 2018 as the perfect “first horse”. I will not enter into a slanging match over her previous sellers, however will openly explain the issues I’ve had with her. I went to view Bella to try her before committing to buying her. The horse I saw and rode was absolutely beautiful, good as gold, so well mannered, patient and a very comfy/enjoyable ride. I instantly fell in love with her. The horse I then took home and tried to ride was completely different. Bella threw me off (quite badly) the second my bum touched the saddle on her back. After many vets investigations, thousands of pounds and lost time, it has been discovered that Bella has some form of spinal condition that means she cannot be ridden again. We have also found that at the time of me trying/vetting her she was drugged with Mepivacaine which was not disclosed to me when I vetted or even brought her. Bella has trust issues, she is NOT aggressive at all, she shys away from you. When she first arrived with me I struggled to get near her to put a head collar on or put a rug on/off her. However, over time I have built a bond/trust with her and she will now follow me round the field like a dog and happily stands to let me put her head collar/rugs on and is very trusting of me, but this has taken time to build up. Again, I cannot stress enough that she is NOT aggressive at all, just shy and nervous and will run off from you and stand as far away from you as possible, this is until she builds that trust for you, and then she turns into the most loving horse ever. She regularly stands and licks my hands, grooms my hair and comes for cuddles with me. She can sometimes be more challenging in horrible weather, like heavy rain/wind, and I am unsure whether this is through pain or just a general dislike for horrible weather. She would make the perfect companion horse. She lives out 24/7 with me, I am unsure whether she has ever been stabled or not but don’t think she’d be an issue if she was. She also loads perfectly, will load herself. Happy for a fuss/groom. I feel that once the bond/trust is gained, Bella would enjoy some in hand showing. This horse is incredibly special to me given the history she has and the bond we have built and I will under NO circumstances allow her to go to just anybody. I do have a 2 stage vetting report from when I brought her in August and also have copies of all the medical reports around the investigations we had done for her. I am more than happy to provide these. She is NOT up to date with any vacs/worming. She is really good for the farrier when he comes to trim her hooves and stands very still for him. I have her passport too. Bella is fed on hard feed and hay during the winter and just grass during the summer months. Bella is the politest horse ever when it comes to her feed and will happily stand and wait for her dinner and even “thanks” you for it by lifting one front hoof up while waiting and eating.

Both horses are for sale through NO fault of their own and this is incredibly hard for me, I have had a recent relationship break down and can no longer afford to run a house and 2 horses on my own. If sold, I will be viewing their new homes before any monies are exchanged and if I’m not happy with any of their new living arrangements I will not let them go. I am more than happy to answer/discuss absolutely anything you may want to know and have previous owner details for Thomas, who I know would be happy to stay in touch and also answer any questions if required. I would ideally like both horses to go together, as they are bonded (although separated by 1 line of electric tape in their field as Thomas doesn’t like to share his field) they still groom and kiss each other over this line.
More than happy for both horses to be vetted at buyers expense, however Bella’s will NOT be a ridden vetting for reasons above.

I have full tack for Thomas, including numerous rugs/bridles (one of which is basically brand new), saddles pads etc.
Bella has a bridles and 1 rug.
I have lots of feed left over for them both, one of which is a basically full bag, the other is half full. I also have approx. 40 bales of hay which I am more than happy to allow you to have as well.
I also have numerous head collars for both horses (2 of which are brand new) and numerous horse related items such as grooming brushes etc. if wanted/required as they will not be any use to me anymore.

I am asking for £3500 for the whole lot (both horses/tack/rugs/feed/hay) and have access to a trailer if you require them to be transported. (cost to be discussed depending on distance).
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask me.
