16yr 16hh Hackney gelding

For loan 16 year old 16hh Hackney gelding. Can move within UK

Fun friendly sweet little horse. Very good dressage horse, competed unaffiliated to elementary working towards medium. Won his first affiliated prelim earlier this year after both horse and rider taking a 3 month break. He has taught a confident, competent novice taking him from basic flatwork to happily jumping courses including fences at 80/90 cm. Good to handle, shoe, clip, lunge, load etc. Doesn't kick or bite and is great with dogs. Hacks first, last or anywhere in between. Happy to plod along or go for a blast. Good with most traffic but can be nervous of large vehicles.

He has jumped up to a metre previously but has been teaching a relatively new rider recently. Will pop round a course up to 90cm though he does need a confident rider as he is not easy to jump. Has XC schooled and enjoyed it but gets his confidence from the rider.

Back, saddle, teeth and vaccs all up to date. He is cold backed and therefore will not accept bareback and does need a good warm up and stretch before serious work. His favourite treats are spearmint polos. He loves to give kisses and cuddles but isn't a fan of having his ears touched. He is in overnight in the winter to help keep his weight up but he has previously wintered out. No joy riders or absolute beginners, would suit competent, competitive teen wanting to learn more or experienced rider. More pictures, videos and full history available on request.
