VERY tentatively looking for a perfect new home for my baby pony
16hh bay Mare
5yo rising 6
For sale/ Full loan at current yard (NN9)
Home more important than price!
Extremely sad sale of a lovely home produced mare. Rosie is only suitable for an experienced loving home as she is still very green but with a bit more work will make an absolutely stunning prospect for multiple disciplines.
Rosie has been broken since spring 2019 and riding away. Brought on slowly and has a lovely attitude to work with a great understanding of the basics and ready for someone to put their stamp on her. She is still green in the school but very willing, never fresh or silly. I haven’t started her jumping under saddle but loves her pole work. She has been out to numerous other arenas and was very well behaved. Rosie hacks alone and in company will go first or last. Bold and reliable and absolutely loves to be out and about. 100% with all traffic including heavy farm machinery. Never spins or spooks.
She has a wonderful temperament, and loves everyone - equine or human. Fabulous to be around on the ground and has a very level headed approach to anything new. Will stand for hours to be groomed. 100% to turnout/ bring in/ walker/ shoe/ teeth/ vet/ physio/ tack up/ mount. Will stand to be clipped quietly but can be nervous, as she has only ever been clipped once. As with everything else she has had thrown at her I am extremely confident the more she is clipped the less nervous she will be each time.
Rosie is a great doer. Super economical - never sick or sorry. Happy to live out 24-7 or come in at night time. Rosie will weave in the stable if left in on her own but this is the only time she will weave and does not do it habitually. She can go months without weaving if her routine is kept level and she has daily turnout for atleast a few hours. This has been reflected in her price and really is her only fault. I do believe her other amazing qualities outweigh this!
Rosie will load on a trailer/ lorry however she can take up to 20 minutes and requires time/ patience. Again this is due to lack of exposure and the periods I have been able to get her out more than once in a blue moon she has greatly improved each time.
I have tried to be as honest as possible. Rosie did not have a traditional start in life and has overcome a great amount to become the great horse she is today. I do know her entire history so I am happy to go through this with any prospective home. She is strictly NOT a horse you will be able to flip and make money on so no dealers or similar. She has already been through so much in her short life and deserves to reap the rewards for overcoming this!
She is a one person kind of a horse and will go above and beyond for you when you have a bond. I do really think she would be perfect for a mother/ daughter share.
I would not be selling her if she had grown a little more because I love the bones of her.
Please be aware any prospective home will be vetted! I have millions of photos and lots of people who are happy to vouch for her. Please let me know if there is anything else you would like to know...Read full description
