Not A Novice Ride!!!!
12 years old
British Warmblood by Rubenstein
Being based on a farm Romeo has seen the heaviest of traffic. Artics, Tractors, Trailers, machinery, diggers of all sizes, Cement Mixers, Bin lorries. Doesn’t bat an eyelid. Happily Walks passed.
Hacks around the fields quietly may have a little spook if a bird flutters out but, a pat to reassure him then he walks on. Needs reassurance from his rider.
Hacks out on the roads alone, does need a competent rider. Traffic never startle’s him. Usually a fly tipping / litter or sudden movement for example a pigeon flying out of a tree. He usually has a little shy then walks on once he knows what it is. Needs a confident rider to give him the confidence. That said, it isn’t spooky with every outing. Does happily hack along being nosey.
Hacks in company perfectly. Doesn’t bat an eyelid.
Has been to camp staying over night for two nights with new horses next to him and he never placed a hoof out of place. He quite enjoyed new friends.
New environments shows, clinics, flags and banners not bothered with.
In arenas with other horses gets on with his job and very comfortable in his own skin around other horses.
Loads on trailers, either rear or side load can stamp once your closing the doors but, soon gets fed up with that and goes quiet.
In the school, he really is an armchair ride. Canter is controlled and steady. Never wants to tank off.
Been to polework clinics, again behaves with manners around other horses.
His stable manners are polite. Let’s you walk all around him, muck out around him, throw his rugs on and off. Never startled or fazed.
A dream for the farrier. Stands and happily eats his hay.
Golden with the dentist and vet.
All upto date with vaccines, farrier, dentist.
Does not need to be ridden every day, even though he is a Warmblood. Have not ridden at times for upto two weeks. When he’s had a well deserved holiday with his field companion.
Lunges beautifully in a controlled manner. Listens to your voice commands.
Always gets comments at shows. 4 outings and 4 wins. Gaining 6 points. Covid stopped competing last year to build more points.
Prelim, Novice dressage, would easily do elementary.
Lady or gent ride as he doesn’t feel too small. Doesn’t have a short neck. A real comfortable ride.
Sale doesn’t include tack.
His trot work is bouncy a real head turner.
Does need a quiet, sensitive rider with the rein contact.
He has a very clever brain and notices if on the yard something has moved that wasn’t their before.
A 10* home is essential. Romeo has been treated like a king and I would want him to go to a home that can offer the same care to him. Homes will be vetted and to keep in touch a must.
Sad sale, genuine reason. No fault of his own. Family circumstances forces sale and rider giving up.
