16.1 Registered Irish Sports Horse
Sire: Bencroy Silver
Dam: Lisanover Hill
Bred from the infamous lines of Clover Hill and King of Diamonds, Ben has quality breeding to excel at show jumping and certainly shows enough scope in this sphere.
Ben was brought over from Ireland in November 2020 however was very nervous and had trust issues. He was sold by ourselves in December 2020 as a project that would benefit from being turned away and being restarted. In that time his new owners have done lots of ground work and Ben has certainly improved. However when ridden was still nervous, which the new owners felt was too much for them. Ben has been back with us now for 4 weeks (on sales livery) 3 of those weeks under saddle.
He can still be nervous at times and needs a confident competent rider . Over the past weeks he is walk trot and cantering and starting pole work. He has hacked out and was very well behaved. He rides green for his age, so does need someone experienced to fulfill his education. He is the sweetest kindest horse that wants to please but can sometimes worry about the consequences.
He is shod in front and was excellent for the farrier, he is good to clip , up to date with worming vaccinations, good to load and travel.
Ben really would benefit from someone with experience with sports horse types to bring him to his true potential, so no novices please. He does make a sound in wind 'roarer', and has previously had 2 operations including a 'tie back' in Ireland, however this has been unsuccesful in stopping the noise and a further scope and veterinary investigation has confirmed that whilst the noise will not impede him in low level riding club activities / showjumping etc it may possibly affect him for eventing purposes.
