15.2hh Tb X Cob Mare for loan

Josie is a 15.2hh TB x Cob mare, for loan due to the fact that I am heading into my final year of vet school, and will be undertaking placement around the country so no time to look after her.

Josie is a straightforward mare, enjoys hacking, schooling, jumping and has done the occaisional polo lesson as well. I have been mainly hacking and dressage schooling her, as I have no interest in competing and jumping- although she has shown scope and improvement during some light showjumping schooling last year. I have never tried her cross country so unsure what she is like, but will pop the odd log out hacking no problems.

In terms of hacking, Josie is pretty good with traffic, tractors, lorries, motorbikes etc- although can nap occaisionally- just needs a firm hand to tell her to get on and she will. She has hacked out to the beach, across open fields, tracks, up hills, over motorway bridges and regularly down the A370 and has never had a problem.

The past 4 years, Josie has been coming back and forth between Weston Super Mare and Nottingham, where I have been at University, with no issues. Settles well in new places and with new horses and has been used as a teaching horse at the vet school- so is good to handle, clip, groom and load. She can be bolshy at times so again just needs a firm hand to tell her off and she is fine!

I am putting the feelers out for a home local to Somerset or Nottingham that will enjoy her as much as I have! Not specific on competition/hacking as I know she will be happy with both, and will live both indoors and outdoors. I am in no rush as she is currently kept at home- and will always have this home to return to if she doesn't get on in her new place!
