Hollie is an absolute beautiful, in fact stunning 15.2hh rising 4 Chestnut TB Mare who is also known as Paisleys Promise back in her race days. First of all please do not be put off by all the above as she does not live up to any typical characteristics related to young TB Chestnut mares in fact she is the complete polar opposite.
Hollie retired sound from racing in 2019 and her full racing history is known and documented, she is fully passported, has great bloodlines and up to date with all boosters, dentist, Physio etc. After her last race she was turned away to mature and take a break from her so far fast paced life (or in her case slow hence why she no longer races!!). She came back in to work July 2020 when she came to us and has basically been started from scratch due to her age. She is currently being lightly worked in the school under saddle by a lightweight jockey and proving to be a quick learner
and adaptive to what is being asked of her, she always gives 100% and is very willing, always wanting to please.
She has been hacked out by my 12 year old daughter and is not phased by any traffic, HGV’s, Tractors etc, she doesn’t mind if she is on her own or has other horsey friends with her she just enjoys being out and will hack all day long. She has occasionally looked at the markings on the road thinking they are going to jump out at her but has never done anything bad just needed a little click from her rider to let her know it’s fine.
She is 100% with the farrier and currently has 2 front shoes on, stands great whilst being clipped, she is a dream to catch and the majority of the time walks to you when you call her, she will stand all day and be groomed loving the attention, she has possibly got one of the most laid back and placid temperaments I have ever seen in a horse and this is something that is very hard to find.
When it comes to loading, she will load, however this does take some time she doesn’t walk straight on the trailer and does require some patience and a lot of bribery food. I am unsure why as she loaded great when we bought her and on our first trip out, she travels perfectly when in the trailer and as far as I am aware has never had a bad experience whilst travelling, this is something that is currently being worked on and may possible be sorted by the time she is sold.
Hollie is currently on a very high fibre diet due to being diagnosed with ulcers last year which have been treated and have now cleared, this is something that is quite regular in TB and ex racers and is easily managed with the right diet which she is now so I would advise she is kept on the same diet with any potential new owner to prevent the reoccurrence which has worked for us. This can be discussed further with any potential new owners/viewers and all medical history can be seen.
Hollie requires a knowledgeable and understanding home not because she’s naughty but due to the fact she is oozing potential, has beautiful movement and could give so much to the correct home that values her age. She would be ultimately suited to a confident young adult wanting a loyal best friend who just wants to please and make you happy, that you can mould in to what you want out of a horse, due to being completely unspoilt and would make a lovely asset to any yard.
This is an extremely sad sale which I do not want to make however circumstances have changed and I have no choice, so please no time wasters or joy riders, a 5* home an absolute must and she will not be sold to just anybody! All homes will be vetted. She is open to vetting, trainers, physios etc.
Price may be negotiable for the perfect home
