Dolly is a lovely little horse and a huge character. Not mareish in any way she is so so kind and a huge softie. Stands for hours being groomed. Puts herself in her head collar and leads herself around. Enjoys waving brooms and shavings forks around to attract attention! She really is a super sweet horse and a real favourite at our yard.
I bought Dolly 2 years ago from an eventing yard having hunted and not done much else. Since then she has come on in leaps and bounds and has competed in riding club showjumping and dressage events. She has three nice paces and was reserve champion in the riding club district dressage championships last summer despite her preference for the ‘exciting stuff’.
Dolly loves to jump and has competed locally up to 1m. She has regularly attended jump clinics at Arena UK in both indoor and outdoor arenas. Not phased by fillers.
If there is one thing this little horse is it’s that she is super brave! She is not looky one bit and loves water. She has attended clinics at Keysoe, Ely and Horseheath and flew all the questions asked of her. She hunted with her previous owner and has flown over lots of the 2* (previously 1*) fences at Osberton so has a lot of scope.
She is perfect for the farrier, loading (has mainly been in a trailer and is excellent travelling), teeth etc...
Dolly is fantastic in traffic and is good with farm machinery, lorries, motorbikes etc..
Used to the walker
Rides in a snaffle for everything, not strong
I have not trained her to be clipped due to time constraints so have always just used sedation gel for this.
Unpredictable to lunge- she will kick and buck and release all her energy! She is better lunged in an arena but we don’t have that facility.
Not for novices- she is a competition horse and loves her work so must go to a competition home.
Dolly has a large scar on her left rump due to getting stuck in the bushes as a youngster. It doesn’t affect her in any way and she passed her previous vetting with it but it is very obvious.
Sadly Dolly has had some time off due to me having a baby and due to my lack of time looking after a little one and the fact she has not grown big enough for me (especially with the baby weight!) I have decided to sell her. She is back in work and building up her fitness and has started jumping this week, flying over her first fence with no fussiness or naughtiness. She is therefore currently at a much reduced price but this will increase the more she does.
She will make a young rider or small adult a super riding club horse, eventer, or showjumper. Really sad sale but I simply cannot give her the time she deserves and she is completely wasted with me.
