Otto has been part of our family for the last six years. He has done, pony club rallies and camps with us, endurance rides, shows and hacking. He loves hacking but does not enjoy the school or lesson environment and can be quite naughty in his effort to get out of working. He has provided us with lots of interesting pony club rallies and camps over the years as he has mastered many ways to try and avoid having to do them. Having said that, he does work well under saddle with a strong leg and seat and confident rider. He does love to hack though and is virtually bomb proof on the road, he is used to traffic, tractors and trailers, bikes, motor cycles and doesn't flinch at loud noises. He is very sociable and can get very attached to his horsey pals so if you are wanting to hack him out alone, it may be easier if you do not keep him all the time with another horse. He will live in or out but prefers being out. He has a very sweet nature and loves children, he has never bitten or kicked out maliciously and I trust him round my little children in the field and in the stable, he will stand all day to be groomed and loved. He is a very strong horse and is a weight carrier, he has never bolted under saddle but he occasionally will want to go his own way when leading him. For this reason, when at shows or when I am loading him, I always lead him in a bridle. He loads beautifully on to a trailer or lorry. He is good to catch as he loves company and he is good for the farrier. I would consider letting him be tried before buying and I would also consider a swap for a smaller 12.2hhish pony that is quiet to ride, any age considered.
