HorsesAll RoundersDressage Horses£ 2,000
*Price reduced* this is not due to lack of interest in Tyson, but because he seems to attract people who want a pony for their young child or ageing grandmother. He is not suitable for this. He needs someone who knows what they are doing. Yes he jumps but unless you're brave enough for the both of you he's not going to go XC. The rider in the XC videos is highly experienced with young and inexperienced horses and she helped him round a lot. Same with fillers when jumping, (poles and fillers he's seen loads are fine) This is why he's being sold as a predominantly dressage horse, as that's what he's good at. He is wonderful to ride on the flat- light, responsive, willing and one of the easiest horses I've ridden to get in an outline, you just have to be able to sit to the occasional spook (which can be quite quick!). So please don't contact if you want your first horse, as he's not it. If you want a horse that puts a smile on your face each time you ride, and you don't have the budget for a powerful warmblood- but want to be able to stand your own next to them in a dressage competition (or beat them all!) he's your man :)
(Also you don't need to message asking if he's still available- if he wasn't I would've taken the advert down)
For sale on behalf of the owner.
Tyson is a 14yrs young Section D chestnut gelding, fit and ready to go.
Very hard sale of this gorgeous boy, after having owned for 8 years, due to wanting something less powered now with a new baby in tow.
Tyson is a well mannered sensitive, loving boy who is exceptionally well schooled. Lateral work, including half pass, walk pirouettes and simple changes all in place. Lovely light mouth, uphill paces and always very willing to please.
Has scored 70% up to 75% In all dressage outings in the last year, prelim and novice, either winning or coming second. (Will compete at Elementary if not sold) This was in unaffiliated sections at affiliated shows, but he would've won overall too, so would easily affiliate.
Tyson has a good jump and has completed XC and hunter trails at the lower levels. Tyson needs to take confidence and support from his rider when jumping. He is happy to jump at 80cm, although has jumped higher when schooling.
Tyson is good with catching, shoeing, dentist, loading etc but does need to be sedated to clip.
He does have a tendency to head shake, nothing found by the vet. We happily manage with a nose net. (Winter months are not a problem). When the sun is bright and pollen high we simply put a full mask on. It has never stopped him being ridden. Mask simply removed before a test.
Tyson is not for a novice, although he gives you a lovely ride, he can occasionally see horse-eating monsters which turn out to be a squirrel or a leaf, so needs a rider who can either catch him before he spooks, or has a good seat :)
Similar to hack, mostly fine but can spook at some things, we are very lucky on quiet roads here, he's good with cars, but finds tractors and large vehicles scary.
Price to be agreed. The correct home for this loving boy is more important than price. Can come with full wardrobe/tack etc Would possibly LWVTB or loan to exceptional home. ...Read full description
