I brought her at the end of June 2020 after losing my big 16'3 sport horse. I wanted a younger project. she was back as a 4 year old but then had 12/14 months off due to her previous owners lack of time. She was brought back into work in July 2020 and within a few weeks was out on fun rides, in a fun show and out on hound exercises.
She is going make someone a very happy rider - but unfortunately at 5'10 she is just a bit too small for my long term riding goals. This is the only reason she is for sale - if she'd grow just a few more inches then I'd keep her for the rest of her life!
She enjoys her ridden work and is much happier in regular work. she can be left for a week or so and ridden but she is more forward. I would love to see her go to a home where she isn't going to be left in a field and picked up and dropped as she really does love getting out and seeing things.
Hacking - Will hack alone or with other (more forward when on her own) Fine will all traffic - may take a small step sideways for a big tractor/trailer or lorry but nothing sharp or silly. will happily pop a log or water ditch and enjoys a good canter in open ground.
Hunting - She has been out hunting and loves it! she can be a little strong at times but isn't dangerous or silly. (always ridden in a snaffle at all times)
Fun rides - She has done fun rides and enjoyed herself - she had only been back in work for a few weeks after 12 months off work and she was brilliant!
Showing - she was shown in July 2020 and had the most magnificent mane and tail! she's currently hogged but it wouldn't take much for her former flowing locks to return.
Schooling - green in the school due to age and lack of education - mainly been used for hacking, hunting and fun rides. Will go in the school happily and works well with you but needs a rider who can expand her education. Has seen and popped over coloured poles and even some old Christmas trees set up as jumps.
Grooming - Enjoys grooming and a good ear brush.
Loading - loads well
Travel - travels well
Farrier - fine for trimming but is currently sedated for shoeing - she is worried/nervous by the hammering action/vibrations . we have ongoing habituation training and I honestly believe with a calm but professional farrier she will learn to settle.
Clipping - can be clipped on her body but currently requires sedation for head and legs. Again there is ongoing training in place and I believe with the right calm approach she will tolerate clipping all over in time. ...Read full description
