13.2h Registered Welsh Sec C Mare. 14yo. Good confirmation & paces. Has previously had foals so please message me if you would like to offer a broodmare home!

Temperament - Lucy is very sweet, very kind and very loving. Good to handle, do her feet, she stands to be bathed. She’s headshy/ear shy so doesn’t like her ears being touched but once she knows you she will let you gently stroke her ears etc.

Tacking up - because of her ears, you have to do the bridle up from the side. Takes a few minutes longer but she’s worth it to keep her happy and not stress her by grabbing at her ears!

To ride - We owned Lucy in the summer and she was amazing. Walk, trot, canter, small jumps. Ridden by my 8 year old and the older girls. Hacked by us and by friends, she was that safe and trusted! We sold her to the wrong family and they’ve completely terrified her. Lucy can now be sharp and tense to ride. She doesn’t like you loosing your balance and will shoot forwards if you do. If you continue to loose your balance, she will run and you will fall off which I think is what happened to cause this change in behaviour and the new fear she has. The older girls are riding her now and she’s really relaxing and going lovely with them again. If they lose their balance and she tenses, they’re good enough to sit back up and carry on riding so she’s learning that they’re not causing her any harm or fear. The rider that rides her the most can now ‘pretend’ to lose her balance without Lucy getting worried so I really do believe that once she has the trust with her rider, she’ll be back to how good she was.

Hacking - brilliant to hack and enjoys it.

Was always a snaffle mouth, easy responsive ride before so would be nice to get her back to that.

Lucy is only available to a kind forever home with an experienced, capable and confident rider. For low level schooling, jumping and hacking. And lots and lots of love!

Home is much more important than price.
