Selling from the field - 13.2hh lovely, friendly bay mare looking for a wonderful family home.
I bought Ruby from a dealer in 2018 as a four year old as a companion for weaning my foal.
She was broken and ridden away. She had been to the local riding club etc and good on the roads etc. I was also told that she had been broken to harness but I can't verify this. It would make sense though as she can produce a trotter type pace.
After about four months of owning her, my friend jumped on her in the school and she was good as gold. Obviously she was very green but willing and no naughtiness or issues etc. Since then she's done an amazing job of keeping my foal (not 3YO) out of trouble.
My 3YO is off to be broken in at the end of the month, so it's time to find Ruby a loving family where she can start doing a bit of work. She is desperate to please you, she would make a great family pony.
She would obviously need re starting, but I cannot imagine there would be any issues. She is a forward going type, so wouldn't be suitable for a novice child/ first pony.
She would make good ride and drive mare- As i said I can't verify that she is broken to harness but i was told that in good faith.
The only thing to mention - as a youngster she did have locking stifles. This seems to have resolved itself as she has matured but she does seem to have the odd sticky moment - It may be psychological rather than anything else, but I need to mention it.
She lives out all year round, lives on fresh air (she is very fat!) great in all ways. Comes to call, ties up, leads well, stomps onto trailer, good to worm, good with farrier, turns out with mares and geldings.
She was clipped when i got her but I haven't clipped her myself.
I want a good home for Ruby. Happy to answer any questions. She's sold from the field - I don't have any tack and I can't ride her as I am 5ft11. No loans, tack trials etc etc.
Breeding unknown. Available from the end of the month.
