HorsesLead Rein & First RiddenFamily£ 2,000
11.2ish, 11 Yr. old registered welsh Section A mare. Lead rein pony or first ridden.
Sadly offering Hazel for sale, as my daughter has outgrown her quicker than anticipated and moving onto our 13.2. We have had Hazel for 9 months.
Hazel is a lovely quiet little mare, more of a kick along than pull back pony. My daughters have used her to ride in the school and have lessons on weekly, both riding on a lunge line and sometimes off the line. Happy to go over poles and small jumps. More of a confident first ridden as Hazel will walk to gate or just walk were she likes if not asked otherwise.
Hazel is nicely schooled In walk and trot, will happily canter a few strides but needs more work on this.
Hazel is quiet to hack out when lead (we have only lead out so can’t comment on how she is ridden out without a leader)
Hazel was a pain to catch for previous owners but I haven’t struggled recently as long as I have a treat to give her, I have always put a muzzle on hazel in the spring and autumn months more as a preventive measure.
Farrier up to date and always say feet are in good condition.
Fully up to date with dentist, vaccinations and physio.
Hazel throws a really thick winter coat, which seems to give her dry skin throughout winter, therefore we have clipped her which has helped a lot.
Good to clip, good for farrier and dentist. Hazel does not like being wormed and is wary of the vet.
Loaded and travelled fine when we bought her, however not been out much recently due to covid so she has not travelled regular recently.
Hazel can be a little head shy on the ground with adults mainly, once she knows you she is much more confident around you. Needs time to settle in and adjust, will whinny for other horses initially but settles once in a routine.
full wardrobe available additional to price. including fitted saddle which was £450 last year. Indoor, outdoor and fly rugs. Hunter bridle, always ridden in a snaffle.
More videos available on request, in no rush to sell this mare as home is more important.
Stabled in wigan North West.
