Never sick or sorry, Never had vets out to him other than sedation and vaccinations. Up to date with farrier (barefoot), dentist due April, saw the saddle fitter in November so has brand new GP saddle as last saddle wasn't fitting right as changed shape. Had physio during this time and have report showing how supple he was after it, recently clipped.
He is a rescue and therefore can take some time for him to trust new people especially dentists/vets. Can be fidgety and bargey on ground until he trusts you or when he's hardly any turn out. Turn out essential! Respects fencing, good to bring in and turn out, turns out with mares, geldings or on own, good in the field.
We have always sedated him to clip as we find this causes the least amount of stress for him, however with time and effort he may come round to being clipped with no sedation. Just needs time to build trust/ 1-1 bond and he's all yours. Sedation for dentist, can be done with out just less stressful. Has to be clipped in winter as fur grows so long it matts under armpits and groin becoming uncomfortable and stems back to being a rescue
