Description

Frankie (aka Fantasia) is a 15 year old (2009), 14.1hh, grey/registered skewbald Connemara cross Cob.

I'm looking for Frankie to have the best life possible with someone who will be committed to her and willing to put time and effort into her. I am looking for someone confident and experienced, as she is not a novice ride, who wants to build a trusting relationship with her. She would be perfect for an experienced mother/daughter share or a confident teen/small adult.

Frankie is a great low maintenance allrounder. She schools (and lunges) well alone and in company and has jumped beautifully around a course of 80-90cm with me. I have previously jumped a single jump of 1.05m, where she has plenty of scope to go higher. She is a lover of XC (and the beach) and will jump pretty much anything you point her at in an open field. We have been working towards hacking alone but can be extremely spooky and on her toes. She is, however, perfect with other horses and company on the ground.

Frankie had last winter off, due to no fault of her own, and has been on and off ridden work since February. She is happy having a few days off and then being ridden without having any sort of tantrum but is now in full time work.

She has trouble loading into a trailer on her own but has been no problem travelling in a lorry with previous owners. Since having her, we have been doing some trailer training and she has improved, but still loads better with company.

She can be spooky with livestock and farm machinery but is currently living on a farm so has been getting used to machinery and cows, in particular.

Frankie has been turned out in a group of mares and is currently in a field of her own, with other horses surrounding her. She has had no problems with either of these, but loves to have other horses around her as she can get rather unsettled when left on her own.

She is easy to handle on the ground: good to catch, shoe, and clip her body. She has been previously sedated to clip her legs but that was personal preference.

Frankie is up to date with everything. Shod on the front only, and had physio visits every 6 months. Haven’t had any major issues during the past 2 years of ownership.

She will be sold with bridle and a couple rugs but I am unable to sell the saddle with her.
