Sadly Guss sustained ligament damage to his left hind before I purchased him which has resulted in him having a dropped fetlock. I purchased him in February 2024 and he was very much wild, scared and a bag of bones with an injury but wasn't sure exactly until I could investigate it further so I took things very slowly with him to give him the best start I could.
He's come such a long way. He's going to be an amazing horse for someone one day. He's extremely talented over a fence annoyingly I realised he loves to jump by him popping in and out of the paddock pens with no hesitation sometimes when he gets excited. He has a really big flashy floaty movement and carry’s himself beautifully. He's a little suspicious of new people, he came from Ireland with a big herd from the breeders by a dealer and had no handling at all sadly but he's been very rewarding to work with. He has had everything he's needed including unconditional love and cuddles which has brought out a soft, kind and cheeky personality under that scared fearful giant of a horse.
I'm happy to provide x-rays and scan photos and farrier information etc to ensure he has the right treatment going forward when he leaves here.
He still needs time, a couple more scans to see his progress and is now at the stage of having lateral extension shoes on his hinds and strengthening work / backing process.
Unfortunately Guss was so scared to begin with it was impossible even under sedation to shoe him hence why I feel he was just left with his injury. I have very much given him a second chance and I would really like someone kind, honest and genuine to have him now and take him to the next stage. He's ready for those next stages, he has done all the basics but still needs to be on a long recovery road and taken slowly to be backed properly.
He needs to build strength into his leg now and use it but not over do it. He would suit someone looking for a low level pretty horse that is keen on horsemanship training styles. He’s great to play with and work with. He is super smart and really interacts with you.
He's a tall, short, talented,
pretty horse that's had a real rough start.
Please only message or call me if you can provide what he needs going forward.

Good to do everything with now but can be suspicious of new people. (Never kicks or lashes out) just snorts loud!
No vices
No quirks
He is exactly what you see and has never objected to anything iv ever done with him. Even long reining and in hand walking he just gets on with it like a pro. He’s more of the type to shrink and cower than bolt and run. He needs reassurance, love and knowledge on his injury more so than what I can offer him.
Equally he would make a lovely companion horse as he’s super calm and kind with others. He’s a big baby at heart and is not at all the type to pull a face or swing his bum. He would be quite happy being someone’s big pet / dog as he’s very food / pocket oriented now.
Thanks
