Clyde is a beautiful black 7 year old Welsh Section D Cross Gelding. He is sold as a fun "happy hacker" as it has recently come to light that Clyde has low grade osteoarthritis in his stifle joints. This has resulted in him receiving cortisone injections to good effect. Vet has recently re assessed and Clyde is currently in light work including trot and canter on straight lines.
Due to this it is not recommend that Clyde is jumped, competed or evented. However he is able to be turned out 24 hours, put on a horse walker for over an hour, lightly schooled and hacked out.
Clyde is bombproof on the roads and can be hacked in heavy traffic with no problems. Not spooky or fearful. Clyde is a "fun" happy hacker as he does have character and personality and is not a plod.
Clyde has a lovely nature and will stand all day being groomed. He loves attention and fuss. He can be fidgety when having feet done but will stand if held. He is currently shod front only. Clyde prefers to be around other horses. Clyde does load although he can "try it on" sometimes when loading so does require a firm hand.
I am happy for any potential owners to have Clyde vetted and speak to my vet and I have a copy of the recent report following the discovery of his stifle issues, which I am happy to share. Clyde has a passport.
The reason for sale is that I bought Clyde hoping to do more with him, particularly jumping but I now realise that is not possible so I want him to go somewhere he can do what he loves best, which is hacking!!
