Super stunning Buckskin and white mare, currently standing at 15.1HH, rising 4 (born 06/2013)
Darcy is truly a very special mare, she is an Irish cob (bought from Ireland) no breeding recorded
In the school, Darcy is a dream, she moves well in all 3 gaits, walk trot and canter, with nice transitions. She improves and impresses us daily. She is responsive without being sharp, reacts well to leg aids and does require plenty of leg in canter. She is not strong or sensitive to leg, that will in the future very likely suit a novice.
Jumping, Darcy has done very little jumping but has a good natural technique over a fence and makes a nice shape. She tries her best for her rider and give 100% at all times, she really could excel in this area.
Cross country – Darcy has been XC schooling and proved to be brave, sensible and very willing, she gave it her all, happily going through water, jumping roll tops, tiger traps, logs, ditches etc…. She jumps everything asked and happily flew over BE80 jumps. She happily stood and waited while another horse jumped then went off to jump no questions asked.
Open spaces – Darcy really enjoys a good canter around our fields and is good in open spaces, easy to pull up at any time, not strong or silly and doesn’t get fizzy. Darcy is snaffle mouthed at all times.
Hacking - Darcy hacks alone and in company and has seen all traffic from lorries and buses, milk tankers to bicycles. She lives on a farm so has seen farm machinery. She is happy to go first or last when hacking in a group, she is equally happy to hack alone.
Handling – Darcy is easy to catch and comes to call, loads into a trailer or lorry and travels well. Good for farrier (currently bare foot) good ground manners in and out of the stable, loves to be fussed and groomed and easy to tack up. She is a true lady.
Who would Darcy suit? Darcy will make an amazing all-rounder to do everything with, from dressage to jumping, fun rides, hunting to just happy hacking.. She is an amazing horse for the future who is a truly hard type to fine. She is a novice’s ride in the making but due to her age will need her education continued. With more miles on the clock will suit any rider. Really one not to be missed! We are in no rush to sell Darcy, she impresses us every day and is a pleasure to own and ride. We know all of Darcy’s ridden history as she has been backed her.
No time wasters, day dreamers or beginners, no loans, no LWVTB, she does not come with tack but can be fitted for you at extra cost.
Open to any vets/trainers/instructors
