(Update: 9/10/16... Indie was clipped today for the first time ever and behaved like an absolute superstar! He only took a couple of minutes to desensitise, and let me do near his head and ears taking half a head off and all his belly. He was incredible! See pictures below. I even rode him straight after his clip, and he had had a day off the day before, and he behaved like a gem!)
Will be a super second pony for a confident/competent kid. He would also make a lovely experienced mother/daughter share or will be perfectly suited for an experienced small adult. He is a 'decent' 13.3hh. I am 5'4'' and do not look out of place on him. He is nice and stocky so it almost makes him feel more 14hh. I have broken him in myself and know his full history.
This super cute friendly young man absolutely loves cuddles and been given attention. He has a wonderful character, that instantly makes you want to fall in love with him. He is never nasty and has a lovely nature. Very easy to deal with, good to catch, handle, groom and bath. I have had him living out in a field 24/7 and been brought in to be ridden, and also had him stabled for just over a week with a couple of hours turnout through the day, and he never went silly or changed his behaviour when he came in. No vices. Good with the farrier.
Good to load into a trailer or wagon and perfect to travel (you almost forget he is there!)
Very brave and willing to learn, taking new experiences on board very well. He is young but don’t let his age put you off, as many times he acts like he has an old head on young shoulders and take things in his stride. Yes he is still green and sometimes needs reassuring, but he is so willing to please and learn.
Hacks out confidently in company and starting to go further on his own with no problems. Has been around farm machinery, large wagons and tractors. Has met a large variety of traffic from cyclists to large wagons and trailers. I have been on hacks with more experiences older horses to 'nanny' him, and he ended up 'nannying' them back when they were unsure or spooked, Indie always goes ahead and takes the lead!
Ridden in a large cut hay field with grazing sheep on his own and with company and never put a foot wrong. Doesn’t even fret when ridden on his own away from any company.
Super movement with the ability to excel in all disciplines. His flatwork is coming along nicely, and will excel in dressage as he has super paces and a striking presence. He now does better walk canter transitions than my 5 year old eventer! He’s been popping coloured fences at home no problem and jumped working hunter fences at a show, and is showing lots of scope. He isn't phased at all by fillers or water trays. He has been cross country and quite happily
jumped logs, ditches, scary pipes, steps and brush fences and played in the water at Craven. He literally will make the perfect alrounder.
Was in the ribbons at his first ever outing showing in-hand. Indie has also compete indoor dressage and was very well behaved both in the warm up around the other horses and in the test.
Open to any stage vetting. This boy is very special, and will make someone a very good friend to grow up with and learn. He is a hard sort to find, as despite his young age, you can see his potential to be a fantastic pony for someone to do literally anything with and adore. He is worth every penny, and will give someone hours of joy.
