In the school: Winnie is green in the school, purely due to the fact that she has mainly been used as a happy hack in the past, she happily walks trots and canters, she is not a forward going ride but is also not a complete kick along either, she reacts nicely to the leg, is not sharp and will take a kick.
Hacking: Winnie loves to hack, alone or in company, first or last or in the middle, is great in big groups. She hacks all our country lanes here and has seen milk tankers, bin men, tractors etc. She hacks past a primary school with children playing ball games outside, she has also seen the busy school traffic on a narrow lane when its collection time!! We have hacked Winnie down our busy B road past Lorries, vans and general busy traffic and she has been brill at all times.
Jumping: Again not an area Winnie has not done much in, we have taken her to a couple of little clear rounds and she pops over everything asked, she is calm and sensible to warm up and happy stands and waits her turn in the collecting ring. She will jump a course of 60cm, Schooled on in this area could do more.
XC: Out Cross country training Winnie was brill, jumped everything asked of her, as said before she is no speed demon and she puts just as much effort in as she has too, she will happily jump and wait and watch another horse or be pushed on to next fence. She was reluctant to get her toes wet in the water, but went in with a bit of help from her pal Venus . She Jumped tyres, roll tops, ditches, logs and tiger traps and never batted an eye lid, Out cross country she jumped up to 90cm.
Open Spaces: Winnie enjoys a good canter in open spaces, she is easy to stop, has good brakes and does not fizzy up in company. She is more of a follower than a pace setter!
Hunting: Winnie has been out cubbing with Wynnstay and was well mannered, stood well and was unfazed by the hounds
Manners: Winnie is good to catch, she is in a big field (around 15 acres) with mares and geldings, you just walk up to her, she is normally too lazy to come to you. She is happy in or out of the stable, currently living out. She is easy to tack up, brush, lead etc… she loads easily onto a lorry or trailer first or second and travels very well.
