Find on horsemart | Jemoon Horses Take In-Hand ChampionshipMonday 21 September 2009
The Jemoon bloodline proved to be a winner at the Cleveland Bay National Breed Championships held at the recent Equifest, Peterborough, to celebrate the 125th Anniversary of the Cleveland Bay Horse Society (CBHS). The class for In-hand Part-bred Colt, Filly or Gelding up to three-years-old was won by Jane Moore’s two-year-old gelding, Jemoon Tambourine Man, who then went on to triumph in the In-Hand Championship. Said a delighted Jane, of the Jemoon Stud, Market Weighton, Yorkshire; “It is wonderful to win this Championship and I hope that one day Jemoon Tambourine Man will make a top class small hunter.” The In-Hand Reserve Championship went to Jemoon Flying Officer, who was also the winner of the In-Hand Part-Bred class for four-year-olds and over, as well as the Ridden Cleveland Bay class, which was for both pure and part-bred horses. Also bred by Jane Moore, seven-year-old Jemoon Flying Officer, by Arms And The Man, is owned and ridden by Liz Lloyd of West Halton in North Lincolnshire, who also enjoys competing him in dressage classes. Said a thrilled Liz; “We have had a great day today and winning both an In-hand and Ridden class demonstrates the versatility of the Cleveland Bay breed.” Both competitors remarked on how disappointing it was that the breed wasn’t better represented at the show. Said Muick Wood, on behalf of the CBHS; “It is very important for owners of both pure and part-bred Cleveland Bays to support breed classes wherever possible, as they offer a great showcase for this rare breed and a chance for the public to be made aware of the their plight. With fewer than 250 mares of breeding age left worldwide, the future of this ancient British breed is critically endangered.” For further information contact The Cleveland Bay Horse Society on 01904 489731 or visit www.clevelandbay.com | Central England Horseboxes Ltd..Vast stock of horseboxes ranging from 2-4 horses, between £10K to £45K. |
