Yorkshire Show Jumping Event

The box office for the Yorkshire International Showjumping Event is officially open.

Launching at Sheffield’s Motorpoint Arena next Easter (22-24 April 2011), the three-day, three star international showjumping event is set to be a first-class competition on the equestrian calendar and is scheduled to take place for the next three years.

Tickets are sold strictly on best seats sold first basis and each day ticket includes the afternoon and evening performance and access to the indoor shopping complex.

In addition to this, the earlier tickets sold will allow the opportunity for inclusion in ‘Behind The Scenes Tours’ and ‘Accompanied Course Walks’. An activity that is hoped will give people a real feel for the sport at a level they may not have experienced before.

In association with Welcome to Yorkshire, the Official Tourism agency for Yorkshire, the event will see riders compete for a £150,000 prize pot from amateur championships through to top international classes.

Gary Verity chief executive of Welcome to Yorkshire commented “We are really looking forward to hosting such a high profile event as it meets many of our objectives such as bringing sport to the community, attracting more visitors to Yorkshire and the subsequent benefits to the local economy that this brings with it.”

The event includes International and National Showjumping Classes, the Winter Amateur Championship, Young Rider Showjumping, the sensational Puissance and Grand Prix. Other arena activities will take place throughout the event offering entertainment for the whole family.
