Selena Gomez drops pink horses from her new music video

Disney starlet Selena Gomez has removed images of painted horses from her latest music video.

The video for ‘Love You Like A Love Song’ was originally to include a number of horses painted pink and purple and sparked outrage from animal rights activists, including pop star Pink.

The singer slammed Gomez after she found out Gomez was using painted horses on Malibu beach.

Pink, who is a supporter of the animal charity PETA, tweeted: “If there are any animal activists around Malibu – at Leo Cabrillo State Beach, there are horses being painted for a stupid music video. Artists should be more aware and responsible for their actions.”

The singer's representatives responded quickly to the growing outrage, insisting no horses were harmed during the filming - with video producers seeking the approval of animal rights official prior to the shoot.

A spokesperson told People.com, "A non-toxic, vegetable-based powder paint was applied via an airbrush and removed with water. An official from the Humane Society was on set supervising."

However, according to E!Online.com, the colourful horses will no longer be seen in the final cut of the video.
