Scott Starts Season in Fine StyleTuesday 26 April 2011
Show jumper Scott Smith and his new ride Campella have started the season well and are showing good form as their partnership blossoms.
South Yorkshire-based Scott and his team have been competing abroad recently building up some good as the season gets underway.
Their recent trip to Vilamoura in Portugal was extremely successful with Scott and the11-year-old grey mare Campella finishing second in the Grand Prix which was dominated by British riders.
Campella, owned by Scott’s sponsors MPS Tower Cranes and Churchill Cranes, jumped a double clear and finished only 0.82 seconds behind Laura Renwick and Rollercoaster III, who set a very impressive time around the huge track.
The Holstein-bred, Quintus 66, owned by Mike and Judy Studd, also showed true form topping an international class with a very quick time and two faultless rounds to put in a great performance.
Scott’s younger rides including Laytender, was placed twice picking up some very valuable experience, and young horse Cabrietta is looking set to be a star winning three five-year-old classes so far this season. comments: related news: Show Jumping News 19.05.2010 BRITISH SHOWJUMPING REPRESENT GREAT BRITAIN IN A SPORTS INTERNATIONAL LEADERSHIP PROGRAMME Show Jumping News 13.08.2010 Spillers Trailblazers Championships 2010: Senior Show Jumping Results Show Jumping News 08.12.2009 MICHAEL WHITAKER IS NOVEMBER SHOW JUMPER OF THE MONTH popular news: General Equestrian News 24.05.2012 Horse destroyed after collision with Bentley Horse Welfare News 24.05.2012 Farrier suspended for three months after causing unnecessary suffering Celebrity/Rider News 25.05.2012 Zara Phillips carries Olympic torch on a nervous Toytown in Cheltenham | ![]() ![]() Fed up of not knowing how high you've jumped?
