Royal Windsor Horse ShowMonday 09 May 2011
This week sees the Royal Windsor Horse Show kicking off offering a cast of famous showjumpers and some of the Queen’s horses.
There are over 2,700 entries for about 150 classes for this show set to take place between Wednesday 11th May to Sunday 15th May.
Some of the well-known showjumpers participating include Laura Kraut, Pippa Funnell, Robert Whitaker (pictured left) and Tim Stockdale. The Royal Windsor Horse Show climaxes with The Alltech Royal Windsor Grand Prix this Sunday.
Show director Simon Brooks-Ward said: "We seem to be bucking the trend a bit in terms of entries. Where many shows are reporting low numbers, we have exceeded target and are delighted that competitors still seem to love coming to Royal Windsor Horse Show."
This year the show welcomes back the Land Rover six bar stakes on Saturday afternoon.
Entertainment and displays include the Shetland Pony Grand National, the Household Cavalry best turned out trooper and the DAKS Pony Club Games.
Newly launched this year is also the Royal Windsor food and shopping festival, containing more than 200 shops and places to eat including a World Food Pavilion.
The show is held across a large area of the Great Park. comments: related news: Show Jumping News 20.12.2010 London Olympia: Jemma Kirk under-23 champion at horse show Show Jumping News 24.08.2010 Gold for Team Europe at Youth Olympics Show Jumping News 05.11.2009 ShowJumping: Silvester Does it Again popular news: General Equestrian News 24.05.2012 Horse destroyed after collision with Bentley Horse Welfare News 24.05.2012 Farrier suspended for three months after causing unnecessary suffering Celebrity/Rider News 25.05.2012 Zara Phillips carries Olympic torch on a nervous Toytown in Cheltenham | ![]() ![]() Save £60.00 on Parelli Myler Cradle Bits Featuring C1/C2 Cradle mouth and C1 Shanks!
