Michael Barrymore falls off horseTuesday 03 May 2011
The TV personality Michael Barrymore has sustainted a head injury after he fell from a horse while shooting for Channel 4’s Celebrity Coach Trip.
The Mail Online reported that the incident took place in Corsica resulting in the 58-year-old requiring hospital treatment.
He reportedly lost a tooth and hit his head after being thrown from the horse.
Despite being treated in Corsica, the troubled star collapsed at his home in Essex and required further medical care.
"Michael was thrown from a horse and chipped his tooth – also banging his head," a spokesman for Barrymore told the website.
"Back in the UK, Michael had an MRI scan which revealed minor bleeding on the brain...He was not allowed to film for two days as a result of the fall." The spokesman added that he was expected to make a full recovery from his injuries.
A spokesman for Channel 4 said, "The production team took every measure to ensure the strict health and safety protocols in place were adhered to."
