Jump jockey Campbell Gillies dies on holiday

Campbell Gillies, the jump jockey who managed the biggest win of his racing career this year, has tragically died while on holiday.
Gillies, 21, won the Grade 1 Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival this year, died on Monday in a tragic accident whilst in Kavos, Greece. He was due to turn 22 this Wednesday (27 June).
He rode over 50 winners for Lucinda Russell, including Brindisi Breeze, who he had ridden as recently as Sunday at Hexham before going on holiday.
The 2011-12 campaign was his best ever, when he rode 38 winners, and in total he has been the winner of 131 races under rules in Britain. He had also, already ridden four winners so far this season.
A number of tributes have been pouring in on Twitter for Gillies, with Alexander Voy a fellow rider, expressing his sadness.
He tweeted: "I can't believe it. You only have one best friend and now he's gone. I'll never forget you @campbellgillies, love you pal xxx."
