Janou Makes It A Hat Trick For The Bleekman Sisters!

Janou Makes It A Hat Trick For The Bleekman Sisters!

Talented Devon-based event-rider, Janou Bleekman (15), youngest of the three daughters of former international event rider, Clarissa Bleekman (nee Strachan) has been selected onto the Charles Owen British Pony Squad. She will be riding the family-owned 14.1hh, piebald mare, Cregaan Scenic.

Both her elder sisters were selected in the past and so Janou has made it a hat trick for the Bleekman girls.

The team of six riders will compete at the 2011 Pony European Championships at Jaszkowo in Poland from 28th – 31st July, following a final run at Barbury Castle at the beginning of July.

Janou qualified by competing at five Pony Trials over the spring – Oasby, Aldon, Weston, Withington and Brand Hall

Said a thrilled Janou: “I can’t believe I’ve been selected for the Europeans! It’s what I’ve been working towards for a long time. Both my sisters have competed at the Pony Europeans so it’s been a huge ambition of mine for a while. I couldn’t have done it without the help of my family and sponsor, Marksway HorseHage, and I also owe a lot to my sister,Katie, who also rode Cregaan Scenic and made her into the wonderful pony she is! We will be working very hard over the next six weeks before Jaszkowo.”
