It’s a silver! Team GB’s eventers medal at Greenwich Park

Congratulations to Team GB’s equestrians who have won a superb silver medal in the eventing competition at the London 2012 Olympics.
Tina Cook, William Fox-Pitt (pictured), Mary King, Zara Phillips and Nicola Wilson couldn’t knock Germany off the top spot on the podium but still claimed GB's fourth medal in the Games so far.
William Fox-Pitt on Lionheart and Mary King on Imperial Cavalier both had a double clear round.
William Fox-Pitt told the Independent: “As I trotted out, I thought we're never going to experience that [atmosphere] again”.
It was amazing to watch Princess Anne - Zara’s mum - present the medals to the equestrian teams in Greenwich Park.
The Princess Royal is President of the British Olympic Association and herself competed in eventing in the 1976 Montreal Olympics.
GB last won eventing silver at Athens in 2004 and they took bronze in 2008, but it’s been 40 years since they won gold for eventing.
