Future stars make their mark at Hickstead’s All England Jumping Championships

Future stars make their mark at Hickstead’s All England Jumping Championships

The All England Jumping Championships began at Hickstead Showground yesterday (8th September 2011), as Britain’s young hopefuls aimed to qualify for the ages class championships.

Of particular note was Jane Annett from Sevenoaks, who won two of the qualifiers: the Five Year Old qualifier on Non Stop II and the Six and Seven Year Old qualifier on Do Wot.

Jane is no stranger to victory at Hickstead either, as she has previously won the Bunn Leisure Derby Tankard at the same venue in June.

A total of 56 horses qualified for the Four Year Old Championship, which will take place today in Hickstead’s International Arena.

With 70 combinations entered into today’s All England 1.40m Open, it is set to be one of the most hotly-contested classes during the show.

The All England Jumping Championships have been designed to promote British breeding as well as encourage grassroots competitors.
