Ellen Whitaker and Equimax Ocolado part of winning GB Nations Cup Team

Ellen Whitaker and Equimax Ocolado, who is sponsored by Virbac, manufacturers of leading wormer brands Equimax and Eraquell, began as pathfinders for Team GB who finished on a zero score to win the Nations Cup competition at the CS105* at Abu Dahbi.

Together they put in a foot perfect clear in the first round, setting the scene for team mates Guy Williams and Ben Mayer who also went clear, with Robert Smith finishing with five penalties.

Team GB went into the second round just one point clear of Germany and yet again Ellen and Equimax Ocolado kept their cool to jump another stunning clear. The pair were followed by further clears from Guy and Robert which meant that Ben didn’t have to jump in the second round!

Of the 11 teams that started the competition just seven made it through to the second round. Ellen Whitaker and Equimax Ocolado, along with the rest of the GB Team, finished the competition a full six penalties ahead of their nearest rivals, Germany.

Chef d’Equipe Tim Stockdale said:"Ellen and Guy set us up beautifully with two double clears, neatly inside the time. Robert's horse just made a mistake in the first round but came out clear in the second. And Ben rode a fantastic clear. What a fantastic start to 2010, I knew we had a strong team and a great team spirit. We had a plan right from the start and everything went to plan. All of the horses jumped out of their skins today. It feels great to come away with a win!”.
