Carpetright is the new sponsor of the Hickstead DerbyThursday 28 April 2011
The Bunn family, owners of the All England Jumping Course at Hickstead, is pleased to announce that Carpetright is the new sponsor of the Derby, the highlight of the British Jumping Derby Meeting (23 – 26 June). Lord Harris, Chairman and CEO of Carpetright, and Lady Harris are already tremendous supporters of the sport. They own a number of top horses, including Tina Fletcher’s ride Hallo Sailor and Unique IX, as well as Laura Renwick’s Oz De Breve. Lizzie Bunn, Hickstead director, said: “We are delighted that Carpetright have agreed to sponsor Hickstead’s most famous event. Lord and Lady Harris have shown huge commitment to equestrianism over the years, and we are really looking forward to working with them over the coming months.” The Carpetright Derby will be held at 2.30pm on Sunday 26 June, and will be televised live on Sky Sports. With a prize fund of £120,000, including £40,000 to the winner, it is one of the most fiercely fought showjumping classes in the world. Last year marked the 50th anniversary of the Hickstead Derby. It was won by Guy Williams and Skip Two Ramiro, with Tina Fletcher and Promised Land finishing second. comments: related news: Show Jumping News 03.08.2010 Nation Cup Team Announced for Dublin Show Jumping News 16.08.2010 British Nations Cup Victory Voted July Performance Of The Month Show Jumping News 25.10.2010 Yorkshire schoolgirl has the showjumping X Factor popular news: General Equestrian News 24.05.2012 Horse destroyed after collision with Bentley Horse Welfare News 24.05.2012 Farrier suspended for three months after causing unnecessary suffering Celebrity/Rider News 25.05.2012 Zara Phillips carries Olympic torch on a nervous Toytown in Cheltenham | ![]() |
