Brigstock Horse Trials cancelled following sale of Fermyn Woods Hall

Brigstock Horse Trials cancelled following sale of Fermyn Woods Hall

Brigstock International Horse Trials will no longer be running due to the sale of the host property at Fermyn Woods Hall.

David and Mary Laing, the current landowners and organisers of the Brigstock Horse Trials, will soon be moving, after nine years at Fermyn Woods Hall.

David Laing commented: “Brigstock has enjoyed great support from an amazing group of volunteers who, with the organising team, and of course the strong entry lists of riders have contributed to the events success.”

He added: “We will be staying in the area, where we have developed many good friendships. We are very grateful to British Eventing and the whole team for such strong support over the years.”

The Laings re-established the Brigstock Horse Trials after it had been dormant for seven years.

Since its re-establishment, the Brigstock Horse Trials have taken place across six successful years in the historic park that surrounds Fermyn Woods Hall.

Since the cancellation of the Brigstock Horse Trials, it has been announced that the Little Downham Horse Trials have been moved to run in place of Brigstock this year.

The Little Downham Horse Trials near Ely in Cambridgeshire, organised by Tina Ure, will now take place from 18 to 20 May 2012.

The Little Downham Horse Trials will give members the opportunity to compete at a location in close proximity to Brigstock at this important fixture in the early season.
